Data Deletion Policy

You have the right to delete your PostDart account and all associated data at any time. This page explains the process, what gets deleted, and the timeline.

How to Delete Your Account

Log In to Your Account

Sign in to your PostDart account at app.postdart.com. You must be logged in to the account you want to delete.

Navigate to Account Settings

Go to your account settings by clicking your profile icon in the sidebar, then select "Account Settings" or "Profile."

Request Account Deletion

Scroll to the "Danger Zone" section and click "Delete My Account." You will be asked to confirm your identity by entering your password.

Confirm Deletion

After confirming, your account enters a 14-day grace period. During this time, your account is deactivated but your data is preserved in case you change your mind.

Permanent Deletion

After the 14-day grace period, all your data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems. You will receive a confirmation email once the process is complete.

Can't Access Your Account?

If you cannot log in to your account, you can request data deletion by emailing us directly. Send your request from the email address associated with your PostDart account to:

support@postdart.com

Include your full name and the email address on your account. We will verify your identity before processing the deletion. Response time: within 48 hours.

What Gets Deleted

Account Data

Permanently Deleted
  • Name and email address
  • Password hash
  • Profile settings and preferences
  • Two-factor authentication keys
  • Login history and session tokens

Content & Media

Permanently Deleted
  • All posts (published, scheduled, and drafted)
  • Uploaded images and videos
  • Post captions and platform overrides
  • YouTube-specific metadata (titles, descriptions, thumbnails)

Connected Accounts

Permanently Deleted
  • OAuth access tokens (encrypted)
  • Connected platform account references
  • Account metadata (names, profile URLs)

Engagement Data

Permanently Deleted
  • Inbox messages (synced from Facebook & Instagram)
  • Comments (synced from Facebook, Instagram & YouTube)
  • Engagement metrics (views, likes, shares, comments)
  • Leaderboard and analytics data

AI Studio Data

Permanently Deleted
  • AI-generated content is NOT stored beyond your session
  • AI Chat conversation history
  • Smart Schedule analysis results

Team & Workspace

Permanently Deleted
  • Your team memberships and role assignments
  • Activity audit log entries (your actions)
  • Workspace invitations you sent

Billing Data

Retained for Compliance
  • Subscription status and plan history
  • Transaction records (kept for legal/financial compliance for up to 7 years)
  • Payment method references (actual card data is stored by Stripe/PayPal/Amazon Pay, not PostDart)

Deletion Timeline

Day 0

Deletion Requested

Your account is immediately deactivated. You can no longer log in or access the dashboard. Scheduled posts are cancelled. Team members are notified.

Day 1–14

Grace Period

Your data is preserved but inaccessible. If you change your mind, contact support@postdart.com to reactivate your account. After day 14, recovery is not possible.

Day 15

Permanent Deletion

All account data, content, media, engagement metrics, and connected account tokens are permanently and irreversibly deleted from all systems, including backups.

Day 15+

Confirmation

You receive a confirmation email that all your data has been deleted. Transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years for legal/financial compliance.

Important Notes

Social Media Accounts Are Not Affected

Deleting your PostDart account does NOT delete your Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok accounts. It only removes PostDart's access to those accounts. Posts that were already published through PostDart remain live on the platforms — you must delete them directly from each platform if desired.

Team Workspaces

If you are the only Admin of a team workspace, deleting your account will dissolve the workspace. All team members will lose access to the shared workspace data. Transfer Admin ownership to another team member before deleting your account if you want the workspace to persist.

Active Subscriptions

If you have an active paid subscription, it will be cancelled immediately upon account deletion. No further charges will occur. Refunds for the current billing period are handled according to our refund policy — contact support@postdart.com for assistance.

Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Platform Requirements

In compliance with Meta's Platform Terms, PostDart provides this data deletion mechanism for all users who connected their Facebook or Instagram accounts. When you delete your PostDart account, all data obtained through Meta's APIs (messages, comments, page data, tokens) is permanently deleted within the timeline described above.

Your Legal Rights

GDPR (European Union)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, EU residents have the right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”). PostDart's data deletion process fully complies with GDPR Article 17. You may also request a copy of all your personal data (data portability) by contacting support@postdart.com.

CCPA (California)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, California residents have the right to request deletion of personal information. PostDart does not sell personal data. You may submit a CCPA deletion request through the same process described above or by emailing support@postdart.com.
